The 2706 is a stepping RF preselector using band switching to select the desired range of frequencies. Manual operation is possible from the front panel, and remote operation is provided via a GPIB interface which is supported by Tektronix EMC120 EMI Software. While not equivalent to a narrow-band preselector, the 2706 does an excellent job of rejecting out-of-band signals and decreasing overload susceptibility at a small fraction of the cost of a narrow-band tracker.
