GEPON Enabled RFoG Mini-Node, Dual Input/Output The Optilab LTR-1G-D-1590 is a bi-directional analog Optical Network Unit (ONU) designed for combining GEPON-based systems with RFoG applications. LTR-1G-D-1590 contains a fully function burst mode RFoG mini-node and an internal multiplexer for combining external GEPON signals. With advanced Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, optical wavelengths from analog ONU, which are 1550 nm in forward-path and 1570-1610nm in return-path, can be added to with GEPON ONU signals, which are 1490nm in down-stream and 1310nm in up-stream.

With forward 1550nm forward-path receiver and return-path CWDM DFB laser, the LTR-1G-D-1590 can provide the HD video and QAM-based return data bandwidth as in conventional HFC optical node. With its fast Burst Mode operation, LTR-1G-D-1590 Mini-Node is designed for next generation FTTH applications such as RF over Glass (RFoG) or Cable Passive Optical Networks (Cable PON).

LTR-1G-D-1590 is a very versatile and powerful mini-nodes. It can be used for enhancing GEPON transmission in HFC, Deep Fiber and RFoG networks. The return path bandwidth capacity of the RFoG systems can be increased by a factor of 3, by using return path laser with from 3 different CWDM wavelengths.
